BSNL offers 2GB data per day with unlimited calling at ₹339

The company said that BSNL Offers 2GB Data per day and unlimited calling within its network upon recharge with Rs. 339. Many unlimited or big-data packs offered by Idea, Airtel and Vodafone are often not accessible to all consumers.

Under the new scheme, BSNL Offers 2GB Data and also get 25 minutes free call to any network every day.

The development comes on the heels of launch of Reliance Jio's Prime membership programme. BSNL's decision to increase data offerings in some of it plans come after Reliance Jio announced that it will start charging users after nearly 6 months of promotions.

The above chart from TRAI indicates about the 3G download speed of BSNL network as compared with rivals such as Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone, Tata Docomo, Aircel, Reliance, etc. Bharti, as market leader, is not only taking the lead to counter Jio but appears to be the most aggressive.

Airtel late last week, announced that they will be offering its postpaid customers free data starting March 13.

It brings unlimited plans with free calling in its own network.

The current offer of Rs. 339 gives the users unlimited calls to local and STD numbers and that is limited to BSNL numbers, and along with that, 1GB data for the entire month was available.

Call it the Jio effect: telecom firms increased their advertising spends 50% to around Rs1,000 core in 2016. Along with that, the customers will also get to make free 25 minutes worth of voice calls to other networks. Airtel has recently launched a Rs. 345 prepaid recharge pack which provides 1GB of data per day, with the data being divided into tow chunks of 500 MB each, one for the day and the other chunk to be used between 12 am and 6 am. Postpaid customers get 60GB of 4G data for the billing cycle, with the FUP set at 2GB per day.
