A man originally wanted for questioning is now the main suspect in the murder of two in teenagers.

Since then, preliminary evidence has led investigators to suspect the man in the photo participated in the teens' deaths, the state police said in a statement.

Williams and German were dropped off on the trail on February 13 and reported missing after they failed to show up at a prearranged meeting point where they were supposed to be picked up.

Their bodies were found the next day near Deer Creek. The location is part of a trail system that the two young teens had planned to take a hike on during a free day off of school, the Tribune reports. They did not call him a suspect at the time.

While police tell the Star they have been working non-stop on the case, they have released little information.

"We're just expanded our search to anybody who saw anything", Indiana State Police Kim Riley said, explaining that at the time it might not have seemed suspicious at the time.

Police said callers may remain anonymous. He appears to be wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket and hoodie.

Their deaths were ruled a double homicide, but police didn't say how the teens died. Police previously said they only wanted to talk to the man because he may know something about the case.

Families and friends are saying goodbye to the Delphi girls who were killed while hiking in Carroll County last week.

Memorial Contributions in Libby's memory may be made to the Liberty German Scholarship Fund at the Industrial Federal Credit Union, care of Mike and Cody Patty.

Williams' funeral was a private family service.
