Samsung Issues Massive Recall for New Flagship Galaxy Note 7 Smartphone

On Friday, the company announced it will recall all of its Galaxy Note 7 phones sold in South Korea and overseas after several of the phablets caught fire while being charged, promising to offer new replacements.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now withdrawn from the market due to battery issues, but in the next weeks, it will be available in stores again, at a price of $850.

He apologized for causing inconvenience and concern to customers.

For Samsung, the recall couldn't have come at a worse time.

"To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are now conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market", the company had said in a statement.

In an email message, Samsung said it has discovered a "small number" - earlier, it said 35 - of defective phones worldwide.

The effort to make the best products was put to the test in 1994, when Samsung rolled out the firm's first wireless phones. But Green Bot speculated that it is because of the five South Korean consumers who claimed about device explosion.

Nobody wants an exploding smartphone-not as a gag gift, and certainly not as one's primary device.

But the brokerage said that scenario was unlikely, as it expected Samsung to resolve the problem before the fourth quarter. However, this month's recall will place it on the back foot, at least for a few weeks, as it gets replacement phones into the hands of its customers. After some users found their batteries exploding when charged, Samsung investigated and found that the battery cells were at fault.

Samsung mobile business president Koh Dong-jin said that "There was a tiny problem in the manufacturing process, so it was very hard to figure out". When asked about the cost of exchange program, Koh did not provide details about it but said it breaks his heart. "Nevertheless, we made this decision because what is most important is customer safety".

The phones start at $850 in the USA, more expensive than most phones.

The phone was destroyed, and joins the list of other Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones that have reportedly exploded while charging. All major wireless carriers, including the number one U.S. wireless provider Verizon Communications, said they had stopped selling the Galaxy Note 7.

Meanwhile, no one doubts that Samsung will have an uphill task repairing its damaged reputation, long after it has managed to fix the damaged Note 7. Once you arrive at the beta signup page, process is a simple one-click operation. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and ...

Park said she's having second thoughts about buying another newly released tech gadget, especially after losing all her personal data stored in the destroyed Note 7. What's unclear is just how many people are going to give up their Note 7 smartphones and move to another manufacturer's device.

China is not affected by the sales suspension. The model has now been sold in 10 countries, though different suppliers have provided the batteries.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes in a packaging just like the S7 and S7 Edge, all black outer cover with bold blue lettering.
