The latest leak regarding the Apple Watch 2 has all but confirmed that the upcoming smartwatch is set to incorporate a larger battery life and take a giant leap towards becoming the ideal smartwatch that its predecessor got so close to achieving.

At last, a moment for triumph for Apple Watch 2, as a photo of what appears to be the battery that's going to provide juice to the wearable has been shown in all its glory.

As to when the release will take place, there is speculation the Apple Watch 2 could be unveiled next month along with Apple's next-gen iPhone 7.

Furthermore, it is stated that the improvised battery will be made available for the 42mm Apple Watch model, which now sports a 246 mAh capacity.

Early this Sunday, MacRumors picked up a photo of the 334 mAh lithium-ion battery on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo; however, the former admitted that there is still no means of confirming if the battery is indeed the one that would be fuelling the upcoming Apple Watch 2.

But, the photo did not point out any potential battery life improvements coming to the smaller 38mm model, which is now stocked with a 205 mAh battery, based on the report of Mac Rumors.

The Apple Watch 2 is also expected to come packed with improved waterproofing and a new improved processor. There have been several rumors about the forthcoming smartwatch which several improvements over the present generation watches.

Apple is expected to put up a good fight when the Apple Watch 2 and Samsung Gear S3 clashes in the coming weeks, especially that the Apple Watch 2 will feature any upgrades from its predecessor. Aside from the new smartwatch, the company will also unveil the new iPhone 7 smartphones and iPad Pro 2.
