They were seen celebrating and dancing outside and inside the theatre at 6 am.

This latest Rajinikanth starrer is a thrill-per-second movie that keeps the audience rivetted to the screen in breathless mode.

Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kerala have seen frenzied fans making a beeline for the cinema halls and multiplexes since early morning.

"The story line is too good, it's very emotional", said one fan who had watched the 4 am screening in Chennai.

A fan group dedicated to Rajinikanth will distribute 150 industrial helmets and welding glasses to workers who have no access to it. Additionally, the group will also provide the under privileged kids and old age home residents with a special screening of the Rajini starrer.

Due to fans' pressures, the theatre had applied for permission to screen the film at 3 a.m. on Friday, but it was turned down by the authorities.

The "Kabali" mania has gripped not just the masses, but also film stars, who are "excited" to watch the superstar Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil action drama.

However, Rajinikanth and his film have made it to the theatres and Firstpost is bringing you all the updates from the first day first show of Kabali as they unfold. Kabali is set in Malaysia and Rajinikanth's character is that of an underworld don with the movie directed by relative newcomer Pa Ranjith.

Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar watched the movie and experienced "unprecedented euphoria".

The fans of San Francisco got a special surprise.

Enthiran's performance stoked global ambitions for the Tamil film industry, which is popularly known as Kollywood after the Kodambakkam district of Chennai, where many film studios are based.

"It's the acceptance of Rajni as a simple person that helped him to reach here and this status can never be achieved by our own superstar Mammootty or Mohanlal and even Kamal Haasan", said Ali.

Estimates from the first day on Friday said the film brought in a record-breaking 65 crore rupees (£7.3m) from ticket sales around the world. Dinesh Ravi, Kishore and the other actors have been decent in their roles.

In Tamil Nadu, Kabali is expected to break the first day box office records of all the Tamil movies.
