Pence's Indiana record more complicated than campaign claims

On Wednesday, Indiana Governor Mike Pence accepted the Republican nomination for Vice President.

Pence, a Tea Party stalwart, doesn't believe climate change is real, believes women and the LGBT community should have no rights and that white straight evangelical men should control the world.

The person did not say who Clinton would name as her running mate. He has previously said that Mexico will not pay for the wall should Trump become president.

Brubaker said Trump and Pence are a good combination with the billionaire's more "outgoing and flamboyant" approach compared to Pence, who Brubaker said made it feel like he was having a personal conversation with 20,000 people at the Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday.

Ivanka Trump is using her big speech introducing her father at the Republican convention to promote her clothing line.

Senator Ted Cruz booed by the supporters of Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump after he failed to endorsed the latter in his speech during his prime time speaking slot.

The Indiana governor was chosen in no small part because he was, well, a safe pick, someone who conservatives in the party could easily embrace as one of their own.

Today's cycle will surely swirl with Cruz's nonendorsement, however, Mike Pence's speech closing out the evening was powerful and cogent, rousing the crowd after Cruz.

In contrast to potential running mates like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Pence is a low-key politician who doesn't seek the spotlight and will not overshadow Trump.

"We're like ninjas. We're like convention ninjas", said Code Pink coordinator Toni Rozsahegyi.

Wicks most recently served as the California state director of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.

Gary Peters said Trump chose a divisive running mate in Pence, and that working families in MI can't afford the policies of a Trump and Pence ticket.

But even in CT, where social views are often moderate and Democrats dominate the political structure, Pence has solid support among delegates. Gov. "For those of you who don't know me, which is most of you, I grew up on the front row of the American dream".

He says no matter what people think of him as a Republican, "If you're a great believer in the Constitution, you have no choice".

Pence called Trump the genuine article.

"I think he'll really resonate in Midwest states, because he knows what it's like - he knows how hard it was", Romney McDaniel said.

"Donald Trump just doubled down on his agenda of hate and discrimination by choosing the notoriously anti-LGBTQ Mike Pence for his ticket", Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign, said in a statement.

The official time of that one was three seconds, causing Time magazine to burble: "The sheer carnality of the kiss - the can't-wait-to-get-back-to-the-hotel-room urgency, the sexual electricity flowing south - was riveting".

But as Mrs. Tobias noted, Gov. Pence is most assuredly "Rock Solid" on our issues. And Trump spoke more about himself than Pence, whom he reiterated was his first choice for a running mate despite reports to the contrary.
