From 'Wonder Woman' To 'Blair Witch': The Comic-Con Movie Trailers, Ranked

Among all the trailers we cover here, "Doctor Strange" is the one which most evokes a real feeling of personality in its main character and this bodes well for the film itself.

In a related Evening Standard post, Marvel also had come to Swinton's defense to put a stomp on the issue, saying "The Ancient One is a title that is not exclusively held by any one character, but rather a moniker passed down through time, and in this particular film the embodiment is Celtic".

They might as well start calling San Diego Comic-Con "Trailer-Con", given how much media focus on the massive celebration of all things in geek culture is about the trailers released by major studios somehow linked to pseudo-geek culture. Strangely enough, the trailer doesn't feature Superman at all, however, we did get our first good look at Ray Fisher's Cyborg and Ezra Miller's Flash.

While the continued muddying of the Ancient One keeps Doctor Strange from truly representing Marvel's progress, it was the cast of Black Panther that showed Marvel isn't messing around.

Given the popularity of superhero movies and comic book adaptations, this also happens to figure into the vast majority of blockbusters set to be released in the coming years. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we have confirmation on Sylvester Stallone's involvement but no word yet on exactly what role he'll play. "It's very, very different and the scale is something else", Cumberbatch said. I think "Doctor Strange" is going to be the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse. Also Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1, and Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018, with Captain Marvel and Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2 being Phase 3 finale.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., meanwhile, is ignoring Johnny Blaze and instead will cast Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes, a young Latino man from L.A. who becomes Ghost Rider after a street race gone awry leads to a bond with the spirit of a serial killer.

Iron Fist, The Defenders: The Defenders are comprised of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist, who hasn't had his own standalone show - until now. Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, Marvel's The Punisher, and Marvel's Damage Control are next in line. Hopefully you like superheroes, because the bulk of the previews feature the capes and powers of new and familiar characters from both the DC and Marvel universes. The timeline begins with the Man of Steel movie in 2013, and then, Batman Vs. Superman continued it.

Not to be ignored, the women of the Suicide Squad got their due in the final official trailer before the movie hits theaters August 5.

The Justice League footage might've been the biggest story out of San Diego.
