According to Mercury News, the report confirms that Green allegedly assaulted Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested for assault Sunday in MI.

Authorities in East Lansing wouldn't confirm details of Green's arrest, but a police report from the incident is filling in the blanks.

According to multiple reports, Michigan State cornerback Jermaine Edmondson has been granted his release from the Spartan football program.

The biggest elements of Edmondson's statement is that he claims Green punched him in the jaw and that two people with Green choked Edmondson the night before. Edmondson's claim of getting punched contradicts a police officer's statement, who said Green slapped Edmondson.

No injuries resulted from this altercation, and Green said that he hopes to speak with Edmondson directly to try to make things right. Green's arraignment is scheduled for 20 July, and if convicted, the Warriors player could face up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine. In an interview posted on ESPN Tuesday, Green admitted that he can not put himself in "certain situations" being a public figure. He then said I pay for n*ggas like you scholarships, I then started to say you have me messed up before I was choked out by 2 guys who were with him. He went on to say that his attorneys will handle the legal side of the situation and that he will learn from the incident and move on.

When he told Green to remove his hand, "boom I'm punched in my jaw", said Edmondson, who added that he did not retaliate. Edmondson says he told Green, "Hey bro, you can at least say 'Excuse me'". We look forward to a full and thorough investigation and to the real facts coming to light.

Green then "poke [d]" Edmondson's shoulder. Apparently this wasn't the first scuffle between the two as Edmondson later revealed. Edmondson told police that he said he didn't care who he was.

Green, now with the Golden State Warriors, is scheduled to be in Las Vegas July 18-22 for a pre-Olympic camp with the US national basketball team.
